The hotel of choice in Burford. Pleasant and quirky place with attentive staff with good service. Magnificent and decent location, 15 minutes' walk to Church of st Peter. Loved wonderful area.
Not very good views from the window.

Everything was perfect, including attentive and incredibly attentive staff with good service. The location was riverside, adjacent to the pathway, very pretty stream and the riverside beer garden. Furthermore, close to the river...

We loved freshly cooked breakfasts!
The rooms were great-sized, with a little balcony, a dining area, and coffee;))

The staff were very accommodating when our tired children wanted plain sandwiches at 10pm rather than more elaborate food from the bar menu. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and the dining room felt like a proper hotel, although the pub area is properly rustic and traditional. Very nice room and garden. Great value all round!
We were there for a party nearby but there's not much to do in the immediate vicinity without a car.

Request a room away from the stairs for a quieter stay as noise from other guests can be heard.

Room was tastefully decorated and the bathroom was lovely.
Staff were a bit disorganised and not entirely helpful or friendly. The 'double he'd was actually two singles put together, which did not make for the most comfortable night's stay.

Shower dirty and too hot or too cold unusable. Room felt tired. Too expensive for what you get.

It was unassuming, good if you just wanted to be left alone. Felt more like a b&b than a hotel.
While I am aware that this is mid season and prices in the south are more expensive I though it over priced for the standard of accommodation, the on suite did not include a toilet. The toilet had no curtain or basin and therefore felt visable. It was generally shabby. I have paid a third of the price for rooms of a better standard.

The location is lovely - right by a river with lots of wildlife. We even saw a woodpecker! The room was really well designed, clean and comfortable with good tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was great - large portions and good quality. We would stay hear again.
It's a bit confusing where u are meant to go to check in. The main car park for people staying is at the back but then you practically walk into the kitchen. A few signs wouldn't go a miss. The staff are very friendly but could do with a bit more finesse and some training at putting guests first rather than their other tasks. But we did enjoy our stay, we just occasionally thought we were in the way!

A real country pub in a lovely setting beside the river. Very comfortable room which was upgraded as I was the only guest staying. Good food both in the evening & for breakfast. I will stay here again.
